A Boy in Shambles

A boy whose soul is lost and confused
Cannot reach out for what he needs
His smile is broken
His heart, shattered and full of greed

A light that leads us all
Has only flickered, and now died in his eyes
No matter how much we try to restore the love we know is there
We are met with fear and anger, and ask ourselves why

We take for granted
Our sources of love and inspiration
But as we try to get him back on his feet
Our everlasting patience soon hits its expiration

May he remember
That though his problems may come down on him
His friends shall be there to pick him up
And make the work to get up a little less grim
